After laboring hard for two hours we drove back to the campground and asked the owner to evaluate our find. It turned out that about 10 of the stones were worth something, which was much more than we had expected. The 10 stones ranged from 4 mm diameter to 7.5 mm diameter. The largest one would be worth about 175 Australian Dollars (about 100 US Dollars) after being cut (it costs about 40 Australian Dollars to get it cut). We were excited, but still not convinced that this was the way to retire.
