Our next stop were the Devil`s Marbles, a fascinating set of granite boulders right next to the highway. The marbles had formed in a very similar way than Ayers Rock, the Olgas and Chambers Pillar: a long period of erosion had exposed rock layers that had formerly been underground. Softer rock has eroded away and the hard rock was left behind.
