Marlborough Sounds Home > Honeymoon > Australia+NZ > Marlborough Sounds From Rotorua we drove to Wellington and took the ferry to the South Island.  Our first stop on the South Island was Marlborough Sounds.  We set up our tent just before the rain started to come down, and made this our base for a couple of days.  We wanted to go on a boat tour and to do a hike.
