After all of the fresh mountain air a good night sleep was just what we needed. Unlike the summerly temperatures on the North Island, the temperatures by the glacier were quite cool, and by 4:00 a.m. we were both freezing. The interesting thing is that once the sun came out it was really nice and warm.
